CEOs on the move

Kristin Williams has been named chancellor of the Kentucky Community and Technical College System (KCTCS), effective August 16. She is currently president of Henderson Community College and has served as interim president of Hazard Community and Technical College. In addition, she was chief academic officer at  Hopkinsville Community College. Prior to joining KCTCS, Williams was vice president at Santa Fe Community College in Florida.

Appointments

Stephen Baniste is the new library director at Florida’s Tallahassee Community College. He comes from Minot State University in North Dakota, where he served as library director since 2010.

Scott J. Blair has joined Northampton Community College (Pennsylvania) as chief diversity officer. He comes from the State University of New York’s College of Environmental Science and Forestry, where he was director of student diversity and inclusion initiatives.

Rebecca Butler has been promoted to the newly created position of executive vice president at Columbus State Community College (Ohio). She had been serving as senior vice president of enrollment management and student services.

Connie Clark is now vice president of administrative services at Savannah Technical College in Georgia. Clark began her career in higher education at Georgia Southern University in 1996 serving most recently as university budget and research accounting director.

Colette Hands is now associate vice president/chief human resources officer at Oakton Community College in Illinois. Previously, she was associate vice president for continuing education, training and workforce development and interim chief human resources officer at Oakton.

Paul Jarrell has joined Lane Community College (Oregon) as vice president for academic and student affairs. Most recently, he was executive vice president for educational programs at Santa Barbara City College (California) where he led instructional and student services programs.

Girard Melancon, executive director of workforce education at Baton Rouge Community College in Louisiana, has been named president of the National Council for Workforce Education (NCWE), an AACC-affiliated council. His one-year term began on July 1.

Susan Mills is now vice chancellor of educational services and strategic planning at the Riverside Community College District in California. Mills has served the district since 1991 in various capacities, including most recently as vice president of planning and development at Riverside City College.

Wesley (Wes) Rakestraw has been appointed as interim director of Wallace State Community College’s Oneonta Campus Center. He joined the Alabama college in 1993 as a biology instructor. More recently, Rakestraw was division chair of natural sciences.

Peter Sennett has returned to Mount Wachusett Community College (Massachusetts) as vice president of human resources and payroll. Sennett left his position at Greenfield Community College as executive director affirmative action officer/Title IX coordinator/public records access officer.
