New CEO

Roger W. Davis is the ninth president of the Community College of Beaver County in Pennsylvania. He had served as interim president since May 2018. Davis joined the college in 2016 as executive vice president and provost. He previously served at SUNY Rockland Community College in New York as associate vice president of instruction and academic services. During his interim role, Davis secured more than $4.5 million in grants and gifts; developed the college’s new long-term strategic plan focusing on the areas of enrollment, retention, completion, fiscal strength and satisfaction; and successfully negotiating and securing new contract terms with both the faculty and staff unions.

Interim CEO

Helen Benjamin will serve as interim superintendent/president of Santa Barbara City College in California. Benjamin has had a distinguished 44-year career and is an experienced community college leader. She joined the Contra Costa Community College District in 1991, and over the next 27 years until her retirement in 2016 held several positions with the district. Benjamin was chancellor of the Contra Costa Community College District during the last 11 years of her tenure with the district.

Acting CEO

Frances L. White is now acting chancellor of the Peralta Community College District in California. She has nearly four decades of experience in higher education and a long history with the California Community Colleges in a variety of roles, including serving as interim president at both Berkeley City College and College of Alameda in 2016. White was also superintendent/president of the Marin Community College District for six years, retiring in 2010. Prior to that, White was president of Skyline College, executive vice chancellor at City College of San Francisco and the interim chancellor of the San Jose/Evergreen Community College District.

Appointments

Donna Dunaway has been hired as the director of financial aid at Volunteer State Community College (Tennessee). She had been assistant director of financial aid at Motlow State Community College (Tennessee) for nearly nine years.

Ciera Graham is Everett Community College’s new East County Campus director. Previously, Graham was Washington State University Everett’s associate director of student affairs.

Patrick Jackson is the new Upward Bound coordinator at Highland Community College in Illinois. Previously, he was a teacher’s associate for Citizens of the World Charter School, and was a program leader for an after school program for Parker-Anderson in the Los Angeles area.
