New legislation in California would create a tiered system determining how many bachelor’s degree programs each community college district could offer based on the share of students who complete a degree or certificate or transfer to a four-year university.

Michigan community college students can now earn their associate degree after transferring to a four-year institution, even if the degree requirements were unmet before transferring. 

Wyoming News
The Laramie County Community College Board of Trustees has voted to adopt President Joe Schaffer’s recommendation to change the college’s name to Wyoming State College. The new name will take effect July 1, 2027.

University of Hawaii System
In a historic milestone for the University of Hawaiʻi System, 100% of available performance funding, totaling $6,208,198, has been awarded across all 10 UH campuses – including the six community college campuses – for the 2025-2026 academic year under a revised transitional framework. Under the previous historical framework, only 49% of available performance funds would have been distributed for the academic year.
