New CEOs

Susan Looney has recently been named the sixth president of Reading Area Community College (RACC) in Pennsylvania. She joined the college in 2014 as dean of instruction before being promoted to senior vice president of academic affairs/provost in 2015. In her 20 years as a full-time community college educator, eight as a faculty member and 12 as a senior administrator, Looney has worked in a variety of academic and administrative roles at Mohave Community College in Arizona and Delaware Technical Community College.

John Mosby will serve as the next president of Highline College in Washington, effective next month. He is currently vice president for student services at Mission College in California, part of the West Valley Mission Community College District. Previously, Mosby was a dean at Skyline College in California. A staunch advocate for student success, Mosby continues to serve in various capacities within higher education, developing new programs and services, and has served on numerous committees addressing the areas of fiscal and institutional planning, accreditation, educational policy, enrollment management, equity and access at both the local and statewide levels.

Appointments

Bill Pink, president of Grand Rapids Community College in Michigan, has been elected to the board of the Higher Learning Commission, which oversees accreditation for degree-granting colleges and universities in 19 states. His term runs from September 2018 to August 2022.
