Mid-Plains Community College plans to bus students and staffers on Aug. 21 from its McCook campus to its North Platte campus, which is in the zone of totality for the solar eclipse. Central Community College moved the first day of school from Aug. 21 to the following day, and Western Nebraska Community College is passing out special sunglasses and taking an hour-long break for cookies and eclipse viewing.
