The Alabama Community College System board of trustees approved a legislative agenda calling for more funding for workforce development and dual-enrollment programs.

South Puget Sound Community College in Washington will offer a new for-credit associate degree in applied science with certificate options in craft brewing, cider making and distilling.

Conn. college provides scholarships for allied health certificates  

Norwalk Community College’s new Thrive by 25: Career Connections program is offering up to 50 full scholarships for youth ages 18-25 to earn non-credit certificates leading to immediate jobs in allied health fields.

Commentary: Community colleges should become ‘placement colleges’

A proposed “placement paradigm” for community colleges is a hybrid of today’s community colleges and workforce investment boards, with a focus on job training and tracking placement to a good first job.
