Community College Undergraduate Research Experience Summit
AACC, with funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF), is hosting a Community College Undergraduate Research Experience Summit, November 20-22, 2019, in Washington, D.C. It will be held in collaboration with the Community College Undergraduate Research Initiative and the Council on Undergraduate Research. The summit is focused on the role of community colleges in building, implementing and sustaining undergraduate research experiences in STEM education and workforce preparation. Learn more. Deadline to apply: September 18.

Cooke transfer scholarships
The Cooke Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship is a highly selective scholarship (up to $40,000 a year) for the nation’s top community college students seeking to complete their bachelor’s degrees at four-year colleges or universities. The deadline to apply is November 20.

Advancing cybersecurity
The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) is hosting the 2nd Annual National Cybersecurity Summit, September 18–20 at National Harbor, Maryland.  The summit will bring together stakeholders from around the world to discuss emerging technologies, vulnerability management, incident response, risk mitigation, and other current cybersecurity topics. Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from federal, state and local agencies, private sector organizations and more.  Register by September 13.

Study abroad opportunity
The Frederick Douglass Global Fellowship is a collaborative initiative intended to increase access to study abroad for MSI students. The fellowship covers all program fees and travel costs for 10 outstanding students chosen for their high academic achievement, communication skills, and service to others. Students selected for the fellowship will study in Cape Town, South Africa. The application period closes February 14, 2020.
