A full-day workshop featuring eight presenters and 11 breakout sessions, "A Midsummer Autism Fair" will provide information that participants can put to use whether they are parents or care givers or teachers or health practitioners working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
Topics include Applied Behavior Analysis in the Home; Encouraging Communication in Children with Autism; Differential Diagnosis of the Spectrum Disorders; Sing Me a Song--Making the Connection; Importance of Social Skills and Social Understanding; Life After the Autism Diagnosis; Sensory Challenges--Increasing Eating Choices in a Child with Food Aversions; Autism Through the Lifespan; A Look at Admission, Review, Dismissal Process; Applied Behavior Analysis in the Schools; and Autism and School to Adult Life Transition.
This event is presented by Coastal Bend Autism Advocacy, Inc. (CBAA) in collaboration with Del Mar College's Special Services Office and the DMC Diversity and Ethnic Awareness and Training Committee, along with Driscoll Children's Hospital, University of Texas-Pan American, Texas A&M University-Kingsville's School of Communication and Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi's Counselor Education Department.
This workshop has been approved for individuals to earn up to six Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for educators, licensed professional counselors, school counselors and speech and language pathologists. A processing fee of $20 will be assessed for those seeking CEU credit with payment due at check-in and made payable to "CBAA."
