Three Rivers College’s (TRC) Public Safety Institute will use a $40,000 grant to conduct training in eight categories of firefighting skills. The grant from the Missouri Division of Fire Safety brings the total funding secured for the institute to more than $140,000. In the past 12 months, TRC has used the funds to train more than 150 employees at fire departments, EMS and law enforcement agencies.
Santa Rosa Junior College received a $5 million from an anonymous donor—the largest single outright gift in the college’s history. The college will use the gift to fund an endowment that will generate about $175,000 annually in scholarships for students who show potential to become future teachers.
