Charlie White will serve as interim president of Virginia Highlands Community College, effective immediately. White is a veteran higher education leader who has spent much of his career working at Virginia’s Community Colleges, including eight years as president of Wytheville Community College. He also served recently as interim president of New River Community College.
Annette Parker, president of South Central College in Minnesota, will serve on the advisory board to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Task Force on Work of the Future. The board includes leaders from industry, academia, labor, government, foundations and other organizations who will provide feedback and guidance to the task force, which will examine the relationship between technology and work and how to best prepare workers for the future.
Veronica Godwin has been selected to lead the foundation at Cape Fear Community College in North Carolina. She previously was development manager for Lower Cape Fear Hospice.
Paul Hernandez has been hired as Mount Wachusett Community College’s first vice president of academic and student affairs. Before joining the Massachusetts college he was chief diversity officer at Lansing Community College in Michigan.
