Need to recharge your professional batteries? The 2017 American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) Convention in April can help. Below, AACC board member and Waubonsee Community College President Christine Sobek notes how the AACC convention serves her professional needs.

Running a community college isn’t easy. Presidents of two-year institutions tackle myriad issues, from budgets and campus safety, to cultivating partnerships and community outreach.

It can be overwheling at times. The annual AACC convention provides an opportunity for new and seasoned leaders to gather and discuss how they are addressing common issues and to support each other.

“‘President’ can be a lonely job title. The AACC annual convention provides an opportunity to connect with peers who understand the unique challenges of the role,” says Christine Sobek, president of Waubonsee Community College in Illinois.

Two-days left: Friday is the deadline for early-bird registration to attend the 97th AACC Annual Convention April 22-25 in New Orleans.
